While trawling the IWM site for photos that might not be very well described, one appeared which looked vaguely familiar. I know it’s not in the Palingbeek, but I was pleased with myself for matching it with a present day view. Here is an oud strijder that defies the usual pattern in Belgium of knocking your house down and replacing it with a new one.
Even the new building opposite has since been knocked down and replaced again in the last 100 years. Not convinced?:-
